The Rainy Day Trust £10 Junior Apprentice Challenge #JAT

Published: 6 July 2021 - James Mead

Looking for something different to do with the kids this summer holiday? Then why not give the Rainy Day Trust Junior Apprentice Challenge 2021 a try? The idea is really simple, we give your child, aged 11-16 years old, a crisp new £10 note and they have until they go back to school in September to turn into as large an amount as possible, raising money for the Rainy Day Trust along the way.

It’s a great way to keep the kids occupied over the holidays and they can learn the basics of business at the same time. How they make their £10 grow is up to them, and is only limited by their imagination. There’s a prize at the end for whoever returns the largest amount back to the Charity.

Here are a few ideas to get you thinking:

Bake Sale: spend £10 on ingredients turn it into £…………

Car Wash: spend £10 on buckets and sponges, turn it into £…………

Car Boot: spend £10 on entry fee, ask friends and family to donate items, and turn the £10 into £…………

Knitting: spend £10 on wool, turn it into £…………
Hamper: spend £10 on goodies and from donations from others, sell tickets to a raffle at £1 each… Turn it into £…………

What else… whatever you do… Let us know please how you did it, and that you took the £10 challenge… post your pictures online, tagging us in with the hashtag #JAT
