The Range boss aims to motivate prison's entrepreneurs

Owner and founder of The Range Chris Dawson has arranged to visit HMP Dartmoor to speak to inmates about how to keep on the right side of the bars and make some money legally.
Mr Dawson, who professes to being fascinated by bank robberies and heists and maintains that "top criminals often have the best entrepreneurial minds", will be making his prison visit next Monday.
The Range's boss left school at 15 unable to read or write, and to this day does not write or use computers. He did though teach himself to read in his twenties. From a young age he showed entrepreneurial qualities and first started selling at his primary school gates when aged just seven.
The enthusiasm to sell continued to grow, and by his mid-twenties Mr Dawson was running a booming market stall. Today, The Range is a multi-million pound company with 100 stores nationwide, and Mr Dawson is a billionaire.
"There is a fine line between the road to success and the road to failure," he commented. "I've worked hard to get where I am and it hasn't always been an easy path. I hope that speaking at the prison will give individuals the motivation to continue their education and start their own route to success."
A spokesperson for Dartmoor prison said: "We're overwhelmed that a businessman of Chris Dawson's standing would give up his valuable time to attend the event. Since the announcement, we've had a lot of interest from both inside and outside the prison; everyone here is very excited about this event."
