The Range ends 2013 with a bang
Published: 13 November 2013
The Range will be ending this year on a high as it opens a further 7 stores in just two weeks, starting this weekend.
The home, leisure and garden retailer will be opening stores in Milton Keynes, Dundee, Dumfries and Maidstone and three of the new stores -
Derby, Bedford and Southend - will open on the same day, on November 29. This is part of the company's overall expansion plan
which it announced earlier this year; by the end of 2013 it will have 85 stores nationwide.
The expansion will create over 1,050 jobs, including sales assistants, warehouse staff and store managers, proving it is well on the way to achieving its plan of creating 6,750 jobs in three years. The company said it takes great pride in creating jobs up and down the country.
Owner of The Range, Chris Dawson, said: "There is so much more to come from The Range, this is only the beginning. We have never opened so many stores in such a short space of time and it will take a lot of hard work, however we are confident that it can be achieved as we have such an excellent team working for us.
"Employment plays a huge part in our company and it is crucial that we get the right people into work with us. We are heading into one of our busiest times of year with Christmas just around the corner and it is important during these times that we have dedicated staff on board that give 110%."
Minister for Employment, Esther McVey, added: "I was delighted to hear that The Range will be creating 7000 new jobs over the next three years. This Government has been clear about its commitment to promote private sector job creation, and this is a stellar example."
The Range offers more than 65,000 products across 16 departments, including DIY, homewares and furniture.
