The ad breaks today and will run until the end of June. It will air on Channel 5, ITV and satellite and digital channels including ITV2, ITV3, 5* and 5USA.

The concept shows a team of gnomes helping Ricky, who starred in The Range's Christmas campaign, to transform his garden and home using products bought instore.

Founder and owner of the chain Chris Dawson, who makes a cameo appearance in the ads, said of the campaign: "The ads are designed to show that we're the one-stop shop for everyone wanting to brighten up their homes and gardens this summer. [They] showcase our huge savings across designer interiors and garden furniture. We've enjoyed working with Ricky Tomlinson once again."

The Range currently operates 51 stores in the UK, with 10 scheduled to open this year and a target of 100 stores by 2015. The milestone 50th store, described by Mr Dawson as his "proudest achievement", opened in February this year in Erdington, Birmingham, followed swiftly by a store in Shrewsbury.
