The Range plans 2010 expansion

Published: 7 January 2010
According to media reports Chris Dawson, founder of home and leisure retail chain The Range, is planning to open ten new stores this year, at a cost of around £15m.
The plans will also see five existing stores refurbished. However, plans may not be limited to 10 new stores. According to the company website, the chain is actually planning to open up to 150 new stores going forward.

Mr Dawson, who started the company in 1980 from a market stall, was recently voted one of the UK's top entrepreneurs.

He was placed fifth in trade journal Management Today's annual top 100 ranking of British entrepreneurs. Turnover at The Range now tops £200m.
