Reds, creams and neutral shades have come out on top as the nation's favourite colours for the home.
Love Colour, an online campaign from the Painting and Decorating Association and Crown Paints, conducted a poll to find the most popular shades for interior and exterior walls, interior woodwork and external doors.
The results revealed red was the favourite colour for external doors, followed closely by blue.
Red also came second as the preferred choice for interior walls, with creams and neutrals voted the nation's favourites. White was the most popular choice for interior wood, with cream the favourite for external walls.
The Painting and Decorating Association's ceo Neil Ogilvie said: "Red has been particularly popular in recent months and a well-painted red front door can really enhance a property. For interiors, the popularity of creams and neutrals has for some time been a really popular choice. Increasingly, these shades are being introduced throughout the home, with a burst of stronger colour from a feature wall to give great impact."
