‘Tiling for a Good Cause’ - a nationwide initiative launched by online retailer Tile Trader, is asking members of the public to nominate a small space in their local area in need of a makeover.
Local spaces and projects may include the addition of new tiles to create a friendlier bathroom at a local care home, a fun mural for a sensory garden within a community centre, or on-trend tiles to update a kitchen area at a local sports club.
Members of the public are being asked to simply submit a short, written description detailing how they would like the nominated space to be transformed with new tiles.
A panel of expert judges comprising Karen Stylianides, editor of Grand Designs magazine; Michela Colling, style editor for Ideal Home magazine; and Cassie Fairy, home and interiors blogger and winner of the Tile Trader ‘Best Homes and Interiors Blogger Award’ will decide the overall winner.
The winning facility will receive new Tile Trader tiles and accompanying tiling materials worth up to £500; the prize does not include installation.
Peter Swain from Tile Trader said: “With minimum budget, local spaces are all too often left untouched or neglected. We wanted to inject life into a deserving community project or initiative using tiles – a material often used to revamp smaller spaces in need of a makeover. We encourage the people of the UK to nominate a worthy space. We look forward to reading through all the nominations.”
