A Bayer Garden spokesperson has confirmed to DIY Week that Tommy Gill, head of Bayer UK and Ireland, has resigned from the company with immediate effect.
Few details are currently available, but the company has said the move was by "mutual agreement". Head of business planning Colin Golding has now taken over as acting head of Bayer Garden and the company "is looking to appoint a new head of the company and will announce Tommy Gill's permanent replacement in due course."
Mr Gill was quoted in trade paper Horticulture Week earlier in the year as saying "business for January and February has been a disaster."
Gilles Galliou, of Bayer Environmental Sciences, commented: "The management team is working well together and I believe Colin is the right person to lead the business through this transitionary period."
