Tool Shop celebrates official opening of 11th store
Published: 25 September 2014
London hardware retailer Tool Shop is opening the doors of its new store on Upper Street in Islington today.
The business, which was established by Vin Vara in 1997, operates hardware and housewares outlets, including two locksmiths, in prime locations across the capital.
The latest addition to the portfolio will have a hardware and DIY offer, including decorating, complete with paint-mixing service, ironmongery, hand and power tools, plumbing products, timber and key-cutting and locksmith services.
The retailer is celebrating the grand opening with an offer of 20% off all day today and 10% off everything from tomorrow until October 5. Special promotions on selected lines will also run from next week, including 25% off Dulux ranges. The opening and offers are being supported by advertisements in the local press.
Tool Shop owner Vin Vara said he was extremely excited about the new opening. He told DIY Week this morning: "I'm delighted that the day of the grand opening is finally here. It's a fantastic shop in a fantastic location and is a great addition to Tool Shop's already-strong portfolio. When we took on the Upper Street store, it was just an empty shell - there was no water, no electricity, nothing - we had to put everything in. It has been a lot of work but we managed to turn it around in four weeks and it looks great. I'm looking forward to welcoming customers in."
