Top awards given out at GCA conference

Members of the Garden Centre Association (GCA) are celebrating this week after a large number received prizes at the organisation's annual conference.
Among the winners were Panters Garden Centre, winner of Garden Centre of the Year and Barton Grange Garden Centre, Preston, which was awarded Destination Garden Centre of the Year.
The Worrall Cup for the best use of signage and POS material went to Chessington Garden Centre, and All-in-One Knutsford won the Dick Allen award for most improved centre. Creative Gardens Donaghadee received the Outdoor Living Award in the garden centre category, and Bents Garden & Home, Glazebury, in the destination garden centre category.
Buston Garden Centre of St Albans took home the GIMA award for excellence in garden product retailing, while the coveted Ruxley Rose was presented to Cowell's Garden Centre in Woolsington in the garden centre category, and Squires Garden Centre, Twickenham, in the destination category.
GCA chairman Peter Burks said: "The awards help to recognise excellence in the industry and are reflective of the garden centres' hard work and commitment to excellence, so well done to all the winners and runners up."
Winners of the Christmas display competition were also celebrated, with All-in-One Middleton crowned first in the garden centre category, and Barton Grange for the destination garden centre category.
Ransoms Garden Centre in Jersey was awarded the Barton Grange Trophy for the best display idea, meanwhile.
Barton Grange md Guy Topping said: "I am absolutely thrilled that we were crowned Destination Garden Centre of the Year once again. We have a fantastic team who do such a brilliant job and I'm delighted that their efforts have been rewarded once again."
