International home improvement organisations EDRA, Fediyma and GHIN have revealed that the recipient of the fourth Global DIY-Lifetime Award will be Prof Klaus Fischer for what they describe as "his legendary contribution to the global home improvement industry".
The award ceremony will be held on June 8 this year during the Gala Dinner of the fourth Global DIY Summit taking place at Stockholm City Hall.

Prof Fischer, who has since 1980 been president and chief executive officer at Fischer Holding, has spent over 40 years in the home improvement industry and has been a key contributor to the development both of his company and the industry. He has also been honoured with the German First Class Federal Cross of Merit (2007) and the German DIY-Lifetime Award (2012).

On hearing about his new award Prof Fischer said: "I proudly accept this award on behalf of all my employees, because without their motivation and identification to our company this success would not have been possible. Our employees are our greatest asset."
