Staff, construction workers, and well-wishers gather for historic hoisting of garden centre monument.
'Topping Out’ at Barton Grange
A 'Topping Out' ceremony was held at the new Barton Grange Garden Centre development at Brock near Preston on Friday December 7, when a new clock tower was hoisted into place on top of the building.

Construction workers on site gathered in front of the building to watch the tower being hoisted into place and to toast the 'topping out' with a noggin of ale.

Guy Topping, md of Barton Grange Garden Centre, raised a glass to the workers and thanked them for their hard work.

Mr Topping said: "This represents an important milestone in the construction of our new Garden Centre and we wanted to take the opportunity to thank everyone who has been involved."

The centre is expected to open in February 2008.
