Town & Country supports Garden Re-Leaf Day
Published: 22 February 2013
Town & Country has risen to the Garden Re-Leaf challenge to help raise vital funds for the Greenfingers charity by donating money from the sale of its Weedmaster glove range.
The supplier has pledged that it will donate 25p to Greenfingers for every pair of its Weedmaster damask and floral gloves sold during the months of March, April and May.
Chief executive Barry Page said: "We are delighted to continue our efforts to support the Greenfingers charity. We will be doing all we can to promote sales of our Weedmaster Patterned gloves during this period, to maximise the amount of money we can raise through this special Garden Re-Leaf promotion."
Launched in 2012 as an initiative to get the whole gardening industry involved in raising money for the Greenfingers charity, Garden Re-Leaf Day will take place on March 8 this year.
Garden centres and suppliers across the UK are getting involved with a host of events ranging from quiz nights and cake sales to fun walks, trolley dashes and sunflower growing competitions.
Home shopping channel QVC is also getting behind the event with special Garden Re-Leaf shows on March 9 and 10. Suppliers featured, including Thompson & Morgan, Smart Solar and Burgon & Ball are donating at least £1 to Greenfingers for every product sold.
The shows will include special videos filmed in hospice gardens to highlight Greenfingers work creating gardens at children's hospices throughout the UK.
