TradePoint launches free next-day delivery
Published: 16 February 2011
B&Q trade venture ups its offer with free next-day site delivery on more than 600 bulk items, including bricks and blocks, cement, timber, and decking.
The move means that trade customers can order from any of the 124 TradePoint outlets or 200 TradePoint 'order and collect' points in B&Q stores, selecting next day delivery or arranging an exact arrival date for bulk items.
However, the offer is not exclusive to TradePoint tradesmen, with B&Q shoppers also able to take advantage of the new delivery options. The service is also offered free to those spending a minimum of £250 and customers will be able to choose their date of delivery either online, in-store or over the phone.
Bulk items included in the TradePoint offer and covered by the new delivery options include aggregates, bricks and blocks, cement, lintels, plasterboard, timber, decking, paving slabs, kerbing, ducting, plumbing and drainage.
TradePoint director Ian Herrett said: "Now there's even more of a reason for the trade to shop at TradePoint. Our next day delivery service on bulk items will make a tradesman's life easier, and best of all it's free."
B&Q launched the TradePoint venture in March 2010, investing £26m in the business. Customers are issued with a membership card, once they have proved their trade status, allowing them to shop TradePoint's offer and B&Q at specialist trade prices.
