Progresses with push into online supply.
Travis Perkins has bought a small stake in builder recommendation site mybuilder.com as its continues on its assault on the £5bn online supply market.
Chief executive Geoff Cooper said his company had made a small initial investment in the business.
MyBuilder is an online marketplace that brings together consumers, builders and tradesmen.
Homeowners can post a job on the site for free, and there is also no cost for builders and tradesmen to join - the site operates by charging a fee to a builder or tradesman only once a quote has been accepted by the homeowner.
The site works on a principle of accountability through feedback where tradesmen are rated on their workmanship by those who hire them.
It is currently being used by 6,000 builders.
MyBuilder started as the dream of stonemason Ryan Notz in a cold Bristol garage.
The move to take a stake in mybuilder.com follows an acquisition of a 30% stake in toolstation.com.
