“We’re incredibly proud to have been awarded ERS Silver,” said group HR director Carol Kavanagh. “We have long recognised the valuable skills, professionalism and dedication that service leavers can bring to our business and are committed to showing our ongoing support for the defence community”.
Travis Perkins offers reservists flexibility to complete military training including additional leave training and established a recruitment programme consisting of company open days, online CV clinics and a strong relationship with the Ministry of Defence’s Careers Transition Partnership (CTP) whch helps place service leavers into roles.
“We are delighted that Travis Perkins has received a Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Silver award,” said the Ministry of Defence’s regional employer engagement director John Wilson.
“Travis Perkins signed the Armed Forces Covenant in March this year, pledging to support their employees who are a part of the Armed Forces community and employs ex-regulars, reservists and cadet force adult volunteers and recognises the transferable skills and attributes that their military training has brought to the business. We now look forward to developing this relationship as the company continues to support Defence personnel through the Armed Forces Covenant.”
