TV's Tommy Walsh launches price comparison site

TV personality and DIY guru Tommy Walsh has today launched a shopping comparison website tailored for the construction trade and DIY enthusiasts.
Tradessupermarket.com compares a wide range of products from the UK's larger retailers, including B&Q, Screwfix and Wickes, as well as smaller independents and niche operators.
The site also includes a section called 'Tommy's Trade Secrets', aimed at consumers who want to 'have a go' but lack the same skills as tradespeople. The section contains video diaries by Tommy and friends undertaking various DIY tasks, providing hints and tips and advising on the necessary material and tool requirements.
The 'Tommy's Deals' section is dedicated to bestsellers and deals of the week, and is categorised by hand tools, power tools, workwear and materials.
Mr Walsh, who is a hard landscaper by trade and found fame on TV show Groundforce, said: "Cost and value has never been more important than it is today and so we hope the site will become a valuable tool for consumers and businesses looking to find the best deals, without having the hassle of having to search through endless shopping sites.
"Through Facebook we will be asking for feedback on the site and what other 'trade secrets' people would like to see - we want to make the site as user-friendly and interactive as possible."
Next week the site will also be launching a 'trade partners' area, which will allow merchants to log in and add adverts to the site themselves.
