John Woods Nurseries has made two appointments to its board - Jo Davey and Chris Bowman become director of sales and marketing and director of production respectively.
Ms Davey worked for Notcutts, and remained with John Woods Nurseries when it bought the nurseries business from Notcutts in 2007. Most recently she was marketing manager. She steps up to take responsibility for the sales team and marketing strategy implementation.

Mr Bowman is promoted from within the company where he has held positions including propagation manager, general nursery manager ands nurseries manager. Since 2006 he has worked as commercial manager for the business.

Commenting on the board appointments, John Woods Nurseries md John Lord said: "Jo's unique skills and experience in developing sales and marketing strategies will prove invaluable to the business as we build on our market position in the months and years ahead.

"Chris, meanwhile, has an enviable reputation in this sector for his skills in plant production. These skills will be vital to our ongoing efforts to maximise and exceed our customer's expectations.
