UPDATE: Buyer still sought for Pilkington's

Administrators for Pilkington's are still looking for a buyer for the company's Swinton site after 241 jobs were lost in July.
While the company's factory in Poole has ceased operations, the Swinton site in Greater Manchester is still trading and administrators Paul Flint and Brian Green from KPMG still hope to sell that part of the business.
A KPMG spokesperson told
DIY Week: "We are still taking to interested parties about the Swinton operation, so we're hopeful of a deal being concluded. We're hopeful that we will be making an announcement about some form of sale in several weeks."
Pilkington's Group plc, which includes Pilkington's Tiles (Ireland) Ltd and Quiligotti Access Flooring,
went into administration in June, blaming cash flow problems and tough trading conditions in the furniture and floor coverings sector.
