As previously reported on diyweek.net, the floor coverings retailer Floors-2-Go called administrators Kroll in on July 21 as it could no longer fight "the depressed housing market and the subsequent fall in spending on home improvement".
Kroll has closed 41 stores of the 132-store chain resulting in 97 employees being made redundant.
However, Floors-2-Go has since said it will be unable to pay more than 100 employees including the 97 that were made redundant.
And, Kroll said that it has yet to attract interest for the business, which it wishes to sell as a going concern.
Meanwhile floor coverings maker Kurawood, a supplier of timber flooring to Floors-2-Go, says it expects limited impact from the retailer's demise.
Floors-2-Go initially agreed to stock two colours in each of its stores in the UK, with a third colour choice to be added at the end of the summer.
But, a Kurawood spokesperson told diyweek.net the business is insulated against the downturn in the market. He said: "It's a small contract for us and we should be relatively unaffected. Floors-2-Go is still trading and we continue to supply them on that basis."
