UPDATE: Manufacturing facilities survive Rustins blaze
Published: 9 January 2018 - Fiona Garcia
Following news of a huge fire at the Rustins paint factory on Waterloo Road, Staples Corner, the company has confirmed that its warehouse suffered the worst of the damage, with all stock lost but added that its manufacturing facilities survived the blaze. It is now working to return to production as soon as is allowed.
A statement from Rustins issued in its website this afternoon reads: "On the evening of Monday January 8, 2018 Rustins suffered a damaging fire at our warehouse in north London with all of our stock destroyed. The London Fire Brigade attended to put out the fire and is investigating the cause.
"At this point our factory appears to be in working order. We are working on our business continuity plans to liaise with our customers, suppliers and employees to get back to production as soon as possible.
"We will update you when we have more information and thank you in advance for your continued support."
Rustins, a past DIY Week Award winner, manufactures wood finishes, speciality paints and household cleaners across a number of brands, including Rustins, Briwax, Antiquewax, Stone's and Wudcare. Last year it acquired and took on the production of Clam-Brummer and its products.
