Vital Earth in running for national business award

Peat-free compost manufacturer named as East Midlands' Business of the Year and picks up regional Sustainability Award at the BCC's annual Chamber Awards. Firm now set to compete for national UK titles and £25,000 prize.
Vital Earth, whose products are made by recycling garden and food waste supplied by the local authority collections in Derbyshire and Staffordshire, also picked up the Chamber's Green Award in the East Midlands last year, as well as an award for technical innovation.
It will no line up against some of the country's most successful countries as it competes for the national UK titles in the Business of the Year and Sustainability Award categories. It is also in the running to collect the award for Outstanding Business Achievement, which offers a top prize of £25,000 and runner-up prizes of £15,00 and £10,000.
There are nine categories in the national Chamber Awards. The winners will be announced on November 24 at a ceremony at London's Great Connaught Rooms.
