Vital Earth sponsors Chelsea gold winners again

Published: 11 November 2013
Bord na Móna is to feature its peat-free compost brand Vital Earth in its sponsorship of Rich Landscapes' 2014 Chelsea show garden, Vital Earth The Night Sky Garden.
This follows its similar involvement with last year's gold medal winner, Un Garreg, also designed by brothers Harry and David Rich.

Vital Earth The Night Sky Garden will feature serpentine stone walls outlining simple constellations, with against a dark backdrop, resembling stars. Inside, modest seating combines with a range of boulders designed to look like fallen meteors. Planting in blues, whites and purples echoes the feel of the Milky Way, and a canopy of trees opens to reveal the sky. There will also be two reflection pools.

Commenting on Bord na Móna's support for the garden, Steve Harper, head of consumer UK, said: "Harry and David are a young team with real talent who specialise in interpreting their native landscape, using environmentally-kind materials and sympathetic planting. These are exactly the values that our peat-free brand Vital Earth seeks to espouse."

Chelsea takes place May 20-24 next year.
