Vitax picks new distributor to grow its Irish presence

Garden and horticulture products manufacturer Vitax has appointed a new Irish distributor as part of its strategy to grow its presence across Ireland.
The Coalville-based company says it will be working closely with its new partner, Unichem, as it seeks to expand its client base and product range.
Unichem will replace McLoughlin RS, which has worked with Vitax for five years.
Vitax says that Unichem, with large warehouse facilities on the outskirts of Dublin, was the natural choice as its new partner.
"Unichem's appointment follows a complete review of our distribution network in Ireland," commented Vitax managing director Paul Gooding.
"The Irish market is changing. and Unichem's knowledge and contacts both in retail and commercial markets will be essential to our future plans. Changing distributors was not a decision taken lightly but we feel Unichem's customer profile and ambition closely matched our own going forward."
Vitax has focused recently on developing its organic and biodegradable product ranges, and earlier this year purchased Organico, manufacturer of the 6X chicken fibrous fertiliser brand.
