Waitrosepet.com, launched in partnership with online retailer Monster Pet Supplies, will offer a range of over 9,000 products, stocking both well-known brands and specialist products including Purina Pro Plan, Royal Canin, Hill's and James Wellbeloved. There are also more than 60 Waitrose own-brand lines.

The website has a broad range of accessories for cats, dogs, birds and fish too. Christmas lines include dog's tweed coats starting at £10.89 and Billy and Margot Christmas crackers at £6.99. In 2015, the offer will expand to include reptile and equine products.

WaitrosePet.com also provides expert advice and product information on specialist pet foods, including a telephone advice service.

Waitrose is the first multiple retailer to stock these products, and to make them available with free delivery across the UK on every order of £30 or over. Customers can also book a repeat delivery. Waitrose says 45% of its customers are pet owners.
