Walker Group buys Focus DIY brand

Published: 2 December 2011
MFI owner Walker Group has bought the Focus DIY brand from administrators Ernst & Young for a reported £300,000.
The deal is said to include Focus DIY's intellectual property assets, including the Focus brand and some others, as well as some internet domain names.

Two directors of Walker Capital Limited, Malcolm Walker and Lee Davies, are now listed at Companies House as directors of Focus D.I.Y Direct Limited, which was incorporated on September 15, 2011.

Mr Walker and Mr Davies are also listed as directors of Land of Leather Direct Limited, which was incorporated on the same day.

Both new companies are registered at Walker Group's head office in Hull.

Focus DIY went into administration back in May, owing more than £60m to non-preferential creditors. Land of Leather entered into administration in January 2009.

Walker Group declined to comment.
