West Yorkshire garden centre calls it a day

Published: 8 February 2016
A struggling West Yorkshire garden centre has announced that it will close down at the end of this month.
West Yorkshire garden centre calls it a day
Rockwood Garden Centre in Grange Moor, Wakefield was set up in 2012. Along with the plants and other garden centre lines the business also incorporated an antiques centre hosting, at one point, around 40 dealers, an art gallery and cafe.

However, trade started to go downhill towards the end of last summer, and with footfall dwindling the owners see no option but to close the business.

Partner Lindsay Cockerham told The Huddersfield Daily Examiner: "After all the hard work we've put in over the last 12 months it's gut wrenching but at some point you have to cut your losses."

A half price sale is now on at the garden centre in an attempt to clear all the stock. The site will be leased or sold.
