Wincanton has been working with Wickes since last February, undertaking customer deliveries using its fleet of specialist HIAB delivery vehicles. This latest agreement will become part of the wider contract and will see Wincanton taking on the management of six separate sub-contractors operating over 13 store hubs within the M25 and three additional sites outside the capital.
Wickes supply chain director Duncan Kendal said of the partnership: “Wincanton understands our desire to put customer satisfaction at the heart of all we do. The role Wincanton plays undoubtedly supports the growth of our multi-channel business.”
Wincanton’s Paul Durkin added: “We have been working with Wickes for just over a year and this new agreement is evidence of our growing partnership.
“Our position in the marketplace, our operational experience and our commitment to safe practice means we are well placed to manage our customers’ subcontractor networks. In doing so, we remove the administrative burden for the client, while identifying opportunities for service improvement and cost efficiencies across the supply chain. ”
