Wickes md Jeremy Bird has been promoted to chairman of parent company Travis Perkins' retail arm.
The retailer has confirmed it is on the hunt for a new md, and is looking both internally and externally for the right candidate. However, nothing is set to change just yet, said the company.
A spokesperson for Wickes told
DIY Week: "It's not going to happen for a while. It's business as usual and nothing's going to happen this year. It was an internal announcement on the plan for the future."
Mr Bird will head up a new 'retail division' at Travis Perkins, although the company restructuring has yet to take place.
Wickes recently bought 13 Focus stores for £8.4m, after the retailer entered administration in May.
