To celebrate the opening of the new Wilko store at the Peel Centre, Stockport, Wilko presented Stockport Dementia Café with £500 worth of Wilko products.
Stockport Dementia Café offers those living with Alzheimer’s the chance to take part in music activities including, singing and playing instruments, which is proven to support memory loss.
The donation featured a variety of products from the Wilko home accessories and decorating range, which will be used to refresh the facilities and café environment for those who use it. Wilko Stockport manager, Mandy Wassall-Billu said: “We’re delighted to donate products to Stockport Dementia Cafe. It’s a great feeling knowing we were able to support a project that does such important work in the local area.”
Community fundraiser for alzheimer's society in Manchester, Steph Larkin said: “There are a number of people living with Dementia in Manchester. With the right support people can live well with the condition for a number of years.”
“Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia cafes can really help improve an individual’s quality of life by giving people with the condition and their carers the opportunity to socialise with others in similar situations and receive vital support, information and guidance.”
“We are therefore delighted to be working in partnership with Wilko at the Peel Centre to provide more resources for our services and would like to thank them for their generosity.”
