Gary Hopkins, Director at Wilsons commented: “We are excited to announce that we will be attending Glee 2023, it’s the first major exhibition we have attended since lockdown lifted and we are keen to get out there and meet people face to face and present some key brands from our extensive product range.”
He went on to say “The Garden centre business has been growing steadily in recent years, constantly diversifying and finding complementary ranges and products. We are well-equipped to assist them in this endeavor.”
The Glee team commented “We are delighted to have Wilsons on board, exhibiting in our brand-new DIY sector and showcasing so many great brands. We are incredibly excited about the introduction of this new area at the show and the chance for visitors to browse ranges from a great line up of exhibitors, like Wilsons, who can help buyers explore the potential in expanding their offer to carry DIY lines.”
DIY is a fast-growing sector, with consumers currently keen to keep costs down, and inspired by online influencers, consumers are more willing to take on DIY projects to update their home without the expense of calling in a professional. The lines between indoor and outdoor spaces are becoming increasingly blurred and, with close to 41,000 Instagram posts bearing the hashtag #gardendiy and Google Trends also reporting a spike in searches for the same phrase, Glee recognises there is a huge opportunity for garden retailers to provide customers with everything they need to complete a job, all under one roof.
