Woodthorpe Hall Group acquires fifth garden centre
The group plans to invest more than £500,000 in Towneley Garden Centre over the next 12 months and double staff numbers from 20 to 40.

Woodthorpe Hall Group general manager Phillippa Nickson said: "We are delighted to have acquired Towneley Garden Centre. We feel that it has tremendous potential for development and we will be making a substantial investment in the centre to increase its ranges and its facilities. The group's ongoing expansion gives us increased retail stock buying power, and this enables us to pass on to our customers the savings we achieve."

The acquisition takes the number of garden centres in the Lincolnshire-based group to five, and there are plans to acquire a further five centres in the North and Midlands in the next five years. The group currently has 350 staff.
