Work has begun on a new multi-million-pound Next Home and Garden store in Hedge End, near Southampton.
The £9m building is being constructed in Dura stone and glass panelling and will use a number of eco-friendly technologies, including large solar panels fitted to the roof. It will have 8,310sq m of floor space across three storeys and an internal mezzanine level, and will incorporate clothes, homewares and a café, plus a garden centre.
The new store, which will be looking to employ 250 staff, is expected to open next April.
The construction company working on the new building, The Midas Group, has also been invited to look at another Next Home and Garden outlet being created in High Wycombe next summer.
