Wright's Home Hardware opens in Forres

Scottish hardware chain Wright's Home Hardware has opened its eighth store.
Wright's Home Hardware has spread further north in Scotland with the opening of its eighth store at Forres, Morayshire. The former Mackenzie and Cruickshank hardware store, which has traded in Forres High Street since 1881, re-opened as Wright's Home Hardware on Friday February 1.
The opening was celebrated with a raffle, with free tickets distributed with purchases, and with prizes donated by major suppliers.
The 9,200sq ft store stocks housewares, heating, lighting, electrical, power tools, hand tools, garden machinery, DIY, paint mixing and a large range of wallcoverings. And in a 'first' for Wrights, there is an in-store coffee shop, which is being refurbished and will re-open shortly.
The store will take part in the Home Hardware Scotland brochure promotions, starting with Spring 2013, which will be delivered to customers the week beginning 25 March.
Forres has a population of about 9,000, but is only 10 miles from Nairn (pop 11,500) and 12 miles from Elgin (pop 26,000). Competition includes three DIY superstores at Elgin: B&Q, Homebase, and the independent Decora.
