Sir Tom Hunter to stand down from his position as chairman of Wyevale Garden Centres.
Sir Tom and Wyevale chief executive Nicholas Marshall are searching for a new chairman for the company, in the hope to find a candidate with more experience in the garden retail sector.
A spokesperson for West Coast Capital told
Horticulture Week: "Sir Tom Hunter took the chairmanship to guide Wyevale through the Jim Hodkinson era and take the business forward and get the refinancing done. Now Nicholas Marshall and Sir Tom are looking for a new chairman for Wyevale with more gardening credentials rather than retailing credentials.
West Coast Capital will remain on the board at Wyevale, however it is unlikely that Sir Tom will stay - he will stand down from his position once a suitable replacement has been found.
