Wyevale Garden Centres has announced that Podington Garden Centre has been sold to Cherry Lane Garden Centre. The sale is expected to complete by the middle of August, with WGC continuing to operate the centre until this date. Cherry Lane Garden Centre acquired Barnett Hill Garden Centre from WGC in March 2019 where it was announced the garden centre will be known as Barnett Hill by Cherry Lane and will retain all staff enabling them to remain in their existing roles. Cherry Lane has also said all staff at Podington Garden Centre will remain in their roles.

Earlier this month Wyevale Garden Centres announced the sale of a further 11 garden centres in four separate transactions to British Garden Centres, The Plant Area Limited (t/a Clandon Park Garden Centre), Coolings Garden Centres and Maidenhead Aquatics.

Cherry Lane has said it will be working to introduce a number of key improvements and developments to the garden centre over the next few months to enhance customers enjoyment and experience of the great value and quality of products from garden furniture, comprehensive pet department and wild bird care not to mention seasonal special offers and the wonderful array of plants, many grown within the Group’s three nursery operations, located across the country.

Podington by Cherry Lane is now the 14th garden centre owned by the QD Group.
