Watford MP Richard Harrington has paid a visit to his local B&Q to watch children in action helping to save Hertfordshire's bees.

The DIY and garden retailer's Kids Can Do It series of workshops has now added the Bee Café workshop, in which youngsters can learn how to create bee-friendly 'Bee Cafés' - habitats incorporating pollen-rich plants.

There are now over 15 different workshops under the Kids Can Do It programme, which is being rolled out across B&Q stores nationwide. Designed for children between the ages of seven and 11, they offer a chance to make something from scratch and teach new skills such as sawing, drilling, gluing and nailing.

After watching the children at work, Mr Harrington said: "It's fantastic that local kids can learn about the plight of the bee, which has been very topical recently. I'm sure the children have lots of fun and will learn a lot about what they can do in their garden to encourage bees."
