Zircon Corporation opens UK arm

Stud finder and metal detector manufacturer, Zircon Corporation has announced the launch of its new affiliate, Zircon Corporation Ltd - a UK Corporation, which will be headed up by .former BHETA director Andy Vaughan.

American firm Zircon has been engaged in the UK for over a decade and has an established a customer base in the tool, hardware and home improvement sectors. The company hopes to increase its footprint in the UK and the creation of Zircon Corporation Ltd will enable customers to work directly with the company’s local affiliate.

“After years of growth, both with our business partners and with direct sales, now is the time to have an organisation in place for an active local presence and leverage our global position in the category” said Zircon EVP of global sales and marketing Ennis Pipe.

He added that Andy Vaughan will manage the new operation. As head of Zircon’s European sales division, Mr Vaughan and his sales team will be based in St. Ives, Cambridgeshire. To expedite order fulfillment and logistics, Zircon Corporation Ltd is partnering with ProLog based in Annesley, Nottinghamshire.

Mr Vaughan, who brings more than 25 years’ of experience to the role, commented: “The UK is a fast-growing and dynamic region within the DIY and contractor trade marketplace. Zircon Corporation Ltd is committed to expanding international availability of Zircon products... Through our ProLog logistics partnership, Zircon Corporation Ltd can quickly fill both our retail customer and on-line orders with next-day turnaround times, while also optimising the product mix for each specific retail location.”

Zircon was established in 1975 in the heart of the Silicon Valley and its corporate offices are in Campbell, California. Its tools, which include electronic stud finders, metal detectors, and electrical scanners, are available in 30 countries throughout the Americas, Europe, Asia, New Zealand, and Australia.
