Essential reading for retailers and suppliers in the home improvement market
Retail 'guru' Mary Portas has hit the headlines again (remember her televised makeover of Lightwater Homecare?) with her pet retail hates. Number four on the list is assistants who don't know their stuff. "DIY shops are the worst," says Ms Portas. "Bank Holiday Monday in Homebase? I'd rather stick pins in my eyes."

But here's a funny thing: it's only a few years since Homebase's PR was being handled by a London agency called Yellowdoor. And who runs Yellowdoor? You guessed it... Mary Portas.

Not expecting to win back the Homebase account any time soon, then...
