Strong progress for Dobbies

Published: 23 April 2007
Sales and store developments blossom
At its agm today, Dobbies Garden Centres said total sales for the 25 weeks from November 1 are up 38.8% and are 12.6% higher on a like-for-like basis.

Chairman Alex Hammond Chambers added that the company is making progress in delivering its pipeline of new stores.

The latest acquisition in York, combined with Lisburn in Northern Ireland, means it will deliver at least two new stores for 2008.

The group is due to open a new store in Dunfermline later this week and another in Sheffield in September.
