Ernst & Young says it has received a "fantastic level of interest" in Focus DIY, which it is looking to sell as a going concern after the company entered administration on May 5.
Update from Focus administrators
Joint administrator Simon Allport said: "Stores have been trading at record levels, and well above budget, over the last week, and continue to offer very competitive prices across the full product range. We are grateful to all the group's loyal customers, suppliers and employees for their continued support.

"We have received a fantastic level of interest in the business and will continue to seek offers for the sale of the business."

Ernst & Young are continuing to trade all stores and says it is "very much business as usual", with the company's strong seasonal product offerings being replenished and the majority of suppliers showing their support for continued trading.

I've had this username on DIY sites for several years, precisely because of the destruction wrought by the sheds that John mentioned.

I agree with Mr fowler comments, i work in a family run hardware shop, where we have had to diversify in the products we sell to compete with the sheds. Although i feel sorry for the staff, our experiences of customer service in our local focus leaves us less than sympathetic.

It is sad to see staff get thrown out of Jobs, but no one spared much of a thought for the family run hardware shops that closed often after 100 years of trading, in the high street and town squares.
The march of the Sheds, got rid of 1,000 's much as the supermarkets have done tomany other family retailers, in the high street.
Now the Supermarkets, and Internet sales, spread into core DIY and many other non food lines, this seems like just the start of exspensive edge of town sheds been shut or closed down to me.. some call it progress..
