Mr Vaughan has now left hospital after extensive tests which revealed the likely cause was a small blood clot. However, the medical team are yet to identify the cause of the clot and investigations are ongoing

"Pleasingly, Andy has suffered no lasting effects from these incidents and has regained full mobility and speech," said BHETA ceo David French. "I am sure everyone will join me in wishing Andy a successful recovery."

Mr Vaughan, 45, has been with BHETA since January 2005. No date has yet been confirmed for his return to work, but all queries relating to the BHETA diy sector should be directed to Jo Stringer on 01604 235395
