All-In-One Garden Centre has bought four and a half acres of land from a neighbouring farm.
The move means the Manchester garden centre will almost double in size to about ten acres, should the local authority give permission for an expansion.
All-In-One directors are now in talks with Rochdale Metropolitan Borough Council to see how best the land can be used to improve the business.
Jason Stafford, All-In-One's financial director said: "We are delighted to announce this purchase.
"The additional land will bring new opportunities to develop our long term strategies for the business and will enable us to offer our customers a first class shopping experience."
