After becoming a DIY Week Finalist this Spring, GJ’s, the Derbyshire-based DIY retailer, decided to host a follow-up Trade Day at its Alfreton store on Friday 12 July. GJ’s said it contacted all the companies who supported the recent store expansion and many brands were invited to work with the retailer to create an exciting event for its customers.
Representatives of British and international brands set up stands, offered demos and held question and answer sessions for customers. Through social media and leaflet distribution, the store gained impressive footfall. Visitors commented that the atmosphere was fantastic, with the buzz of a real professional trade show.
GJ said the companies in attendance enjoyed talking to the public and gained real end user insight into its products.
Kerri Bruce, premier stockist manager at Toolstream commented: “GJ’s is our biggest Premier Stockist yet and we’re so honoured to have such a huge Silverline brand presence in-store. We couldn’t wait to get back there for another Trade Day and it didn’t disappoint. As always GJ’s was packed with excited customers ready to take advantage of giveaways, fun competitions and demonstrations. We’re already looking forward to the next event!”
The day was an enormous success for attendees and the public, and GJ’s will definitely be organising another Trade Day.
Companies in attendance included: Silverline Tools, Hozelock, Scotts, Ronseal, Everbuild Products, Dulux, Hammerite, Charles Bentley, Wynns, Californian Scents, Greased Lightning, Harris, Plastikote, Goop, Belvoir Drinks, Blockblitz
