Celebrity architect, TV presenter of several shows, including Ugly House to Lovely Home, Old House New Home and Amazing Spaces and founder of TV production company Amazing Productions, George Clarke, visited Tile Choice to support its fundraising for the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity. The presenter of Amazing Spaces was at Bilston Tile Choice’s trade day to encourage fundraising and speak to customers.
Lee Rudkin, Tile Choice marketing manager, said: “We were so happy George could be there as people can identify with him and give them confidence in who we are as a business.
“There was a really good atmosphere and buzz – it was good to bring awareness to the Air Ambulance. The day worked out perfectly.” The Midlands Air Ambulance is Tile Choice’s chosen charity this year. Alongside this, they are hosting a charity football match in Walsall on 11 May.
Money was raised on the day through charity raffles and prize draws.
Jo Bailey, events and area fundraising manager for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, praised Tile Choice’s support. She said: “It is invaluable to us. Not only does it help to fund lifesaving air ambulance missions, but also awareness of our vitally important work. The trade event at the Bilston store was a great day, we met with several existing and new supporters who were all keen to find out more about the service, and many were surprised to find out each air ambulance mission costs £2,500, which is solely funded by charitable donations. Having George Clarke join us on the day certainly helped to attract the crowds too.”
Jessica Beasley, from Tile Choice, said: “It was good to see the traders asking lots of questions to the suppliers who happily shared their knowledge. There was a great vibe around the place. George Clarke is full of knowledge. He was talking to us about some great projects. He’s a really nice guy and was really happy to share his experiences with people."
